Fishing Guide: Level 20 Unlock & What Is Verified

Before level 20

You can still interact with the coast through exploration, Ancient Coin hunting and Oyster Diving. Do not assume the absence of a fishing rod means the water systems are locked entirely.

At level 20

The level-20 unlock is confirmed. The available sources do not yet cover a complete fish list, bait table, spawn schedule or sale-value database.

Why other guides may be wrong

Demo / playtest footage can expose water features before they are enabled or place them at different progression points. This guide uses the release-build statement rather than older speculation.

Version 1.0.6 (Sep 10)

Official hotfix. New customization materials for the cafe’s exterior walls, an improved sign and sign editor, and a new quest that introduces the order board to players who had not found it. The Level 1 and Level 2 fish cleaning stations gained hints, Level 2 mixing station interaction was improved, the cappuccino material was updated, and the oyster shucking and fish cleaning station visuals were refined.

Fixes that matter: the delivery van no longer refuses to leave, the water tank state after using a full watering can is correct, delivery now works properly while a perk is active, and you can no longer collect the same delivery order twice.

Version 1.0.3 — fish stay when you leave the minigame

Official notes: fish are now saved when you exit the fishing mini-game. Tools show correctly in hand during minigame animations. Water engine was replaced after device crashes.

Version 1.0.7 (Sep 24)

Official notes list one fishing-relevant fix: uncleaned fish now stack properly. Nothing in the 1.0.7 or 1.0.8 notes changes the level-20 fishing unlock.

What the roadmap says about the sea (announced, not live)

The After-Launch Roadmap (Sep 22) plans Update 3, Taste of the Sea: 4 new recipes, Vongole in the sea (vongole is Italian for clams), and 2 new minigames. Announced, not live — the open questions above are unchanged as of Sep 26.

Update 1.0.9 note (Oct 8)

• Bait and fish now stack up to 10 per inventory slot, so a full fishing trip fits in far fewer slots. The level-20 fishing unlock and the oyster route are unchanged by this patch.
